So some of you may remember the awesome Kickstarter last year for those great terrain pieces Dwarven Forge created from their new plastic line “Dwarvenite”. Backers at higher levels got quite a few sets of dungeon terrain to work with. So much in fact, that I can’t fit them all on my dinning room table!
On the left in the first photo, you see one of the classic Dwarven Forge pieces and the newer “Dwarvenite” next to it. Unlike the older pieces, the newer ones are significantly more durable, though a bit less detailed. They’re also significantly cheaper; and now even a DM on a budget can build his dream dungeon a piece at a time as his adventurers move across the table. Reaching a table edge? No problem; slide the whole assembly one way and make room for more pieces!
The last set even included some dungeon placables like these piles of loot and the barrel (though I painted them; Dwarven Forge tends to do a much better job with their paint work!)
So now imagine my excitement when I heard they’re now planning to do additional sets, starting off with atleast a set for “Caverns and caves”; which will be entirely compatible with the existing terrain set. Have your party open a door and find their way into the abandoned caves of the dwarven mines!
All very exciting and we’ll keep an eye out for future information; best information we have at this time is sometime this coming summer. So hard to wait!
